#11 Sharks Claim Team Title at Buccaneer Invitational

MIAMI SHORES, FLA. – The #11 Nova Southeastern University Women's Golf team secured their first win of the 2026 season at the Buccaneer Invitational (+26/363/374/377). Alexandra Remaklus and Mei Chan (+6) both finished the tournament inside the top-10, and Maria Torres Lobato (+9) finished inside the top-15.

 How it Happened
  • Alexandra Remaklus (+6/74/72/73) opened her tournament with five consecutive pars in the first round, adding eight pars and a birdie to her total. Continuing in the second round Remaklus maintained her positive momentum by recording seven consecutive pars to open the round, adding a birdie before the turn, on the back nine Remaklus tallied an additional six pars and a birdie. In the final round Remaklus again started in fantastic fashion, totaling six consecutive holes with a par or better, Remaklus worked through the back nine with birdies on holes 10 and 18, as she finished the tournament tied for seventh place at six-over.
  • Mei Chan (+6/68/76/75) began her first round with a pair of birdies on the opening holes and finished the front nine with six consecutive pars, on the back nine of the round Chan totaled three birdies and five pars. In the second round Chan totaled five pars through the front nine, Chan found her stride again on the back nine as she shot flawlessly and added a birdie on the thirteenth hole. Chan totaled a birdie and 12 pars in her final round, placing in a tie for seventh place at six-over.
  • Maria Torres Lobato (+9/70/74/78) got off to a phenomenal start in the first round, recording five pars and two birdies in consecutive fashion. On the back nine Torres Lobato had another long streak of strong shooting, adding two birdies and six pars in consecutive order. In the second round Torres Lobato got off to another great start, beginning the round with three birdies and two pars. Through the remainder of the second round Torres Lobato added seven pars to her total. Torres Lobato collected three birdies and seven pars to finish the tournament in 13th place at nine-over.
  • Lua Pousa Dacasa (+11/78/72/74) totaled 10 pars and a birdie through the opening round. Pousa Dacasa began her second round in great form, totaling four birdies and a par on the first five holes, through the remainder of the round Pousa Dacasa added nine pars. In her final round, Pousa Dacasa totaled three birdies and nine pars, as she finished the tournament at 11-over.
  • Ariana Carvalho (+17/73/80/77) opened the tournament with a birdie and five consecutive pars, after the turn Carvalho totaled a birdie and seven pars. In the second round Carvalho added two birdies and seven pars to her tournament total. Carvalho closed out her final round with a birdie and 11 pars, as she finished 17-over.
