FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced that Nova Southeastern Women's Swimming head coach Ben Hewitt and swimmer Kristina Orban have taken home national honors.

After winning its fourth consecutive team national championship, Women's Swimming added on to its accolades with its third CSCAA Women's Swimmer of the Year award in four years after Emily Trieschmann brought it back to the Shark Tank in 2023 and 2024.

Kristina Orban, already named the Sunshine State Conference Championship's Swimmer of the Meet, brings home national honors after winning the individual national championship in the 100-yard butterfly, 100-yard freestyle, and 200-yard freestyle events as well as earning national championships in the 200-yard freestyle relay, 800-yard freestyle relay and 200-yard medley relay.

The Sharks' sophomore dominated the pool with six NCAA gold medals at the National Championships while setting two NCAA DII records in the 800 free and 200 medley relay.

Orban, a native to Malmö, Sweden, is in just her second season in the waters after winning the national championship in the 200 free last season as a freshman.

Head coach Ben Hewitt notched his third CSCAA Coach of the Year award after guiding the Sharks' women's swimming team to its historic fourth consecutive team national championship. The Sharks raked in 486 points en route to the title beating out runner-up, and SSC foe, Tampa.

Hewitt has now won the award in three of the last four seasons winning it in both 2023 and 2025 prior to the most recent selection. He has also won the last five Sunshine State Conference Coach of the Year.

He has coached the team into eight relay individual national championships, including six wins from Orban in just her sophomore season. NSU also clinched national championships from Emilia Ronningdal in the 200-yard individual medley, and the NCAA DII national record-breaking 400-yard freestyle relay team under the direction of Hewitt.

In addition, he, alongside Ronningdal, become the first athlete-coach duo to win four national championships in school history. The last time a team won four straight national championship was Women's Golf from 2009-2012.
