FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The Nova Southeastern University baseball team split the week going 2-2 in a midweek against the Barry Buccaneers and took the series against the Saint Leo Lions (2-1) in conference play. The victories improved the Sharks' record to 23-17 overall and 11-10 in conference play.

- Barry struck first in the top of the third when Brandon Delapenha delivered a solo home run to left field, giving the Buccaneers an early 1-0 lead. Nova Southeastern responded with pressure on the bases in the bottom half of the inning, but Barry limited the damage despite a defensive miscue that allowed runners to reach.
- The Sharks broke through in the fourth inning to even things up at 1-1, capitalizing on a mix of aggressive baserunning and defensive miscues by Barry. However, both pitching staffs settled in through the middle innings, keeping the game tied heading into the later frames.
- In the sixth, Barry regained the lead when Anthony Tralongo launched a solo home run to left field, pushing the Buccaneers ahead 2-1. Nova Southeastern answered quickly in the bottom half of the inning when Anthony Stinson crushed a solo homer of his own, tying the game once again at 2-2.
- The turning point came in the seventh inning, when Barry exploded for a four-run frame. A bases-loaded sequence sparked by timely hitting, including a two-RBI double from Jalen Smith, opened the floodgates. Additional RBI hits and aggressive baserunning stretched the Buccaneer lead to 6-2.
- The Sharks attempted to respond in the bottom of the seventh, scratching across a run on an RBI single from Emilio Gonzalez, but Barry's offense kept pressure on throughout the inning. The Sharks trimmed the deficit slightly again in the eighth when a balk allowed another run to score, making it 6-4.
- From there, Barry's bullpen locked in. The Buccaneers worked around late baserunners and closed out the final innings to secure the 6-4 victory, holding off a late push from Nova Southeastern to take the contest.

Sebastian Garavito delivered the first key blow with an RBI single to left field, followed by Ty Torti reaching on a fielder's choice that drove in another run, giving NSU an early 2-0 advantage.
- Saint Leo responded in the third inning when Amai Rivera launched a solo home run to right field, cutting the deficit to 2-1. However, Nova Southeastern quickly regained control in the fourth inning with a breakout offensive surge. Anthony Stinson highlighted the frame with a three-run home run to left field, and Jorge DeGoti added a triple as the Sharks extended their lead to 5-1.
- The Sharks continued to apply pressure in the sixth inning. After Jorge DeGoti drove in a run with a double, Sebastian Garavito delivered again with a two-RBI single up the middle, pushing the lead to 8-1 and effectively putting the game out of reach early.
- Saint Leo's offense struggled to sustain momentum against NSU pitching, with multiple innings ending in strikeouts or quick flyouts. While the Lions drew some traffic on the bases in the middle innings, they were consistently stranded.
- Nova Southeastern added insurance in the eighth when DeGoti launched a solo home run to left field, extending the lead to 9-1. From there, the Sharks' bullpen closed the door, working around a few late walks and limiting damage in the eighth inning.
- Saint Leo mounted a final push in the bottom of the ninth. A walk and hit-by-pitch set the stage for a late rally, and a three-run home run by Noah Delgado briefly energized the Lions. However, the comeback effort fell short as NSU secured the final outs to close out a 9-5 victory.

However, Saint Leo immediately answered in the bottom half with a three-run home run from Ryan Crivell, restoring control and pushing the margin back out.
- From there, both bullpens closed out the final innings with limited damage, as Saint Leo maintained full control of the game through the ninth to secure a 27-6 win.

- Saint Leo responded quickly in the bottom half of the first, stringing together three straight singles. Ryan Crivell delivered the key RBI hit to give the Lions a 1-0 lead, signaling early that offense would dominate the day.
- The Sharks answered in the second inning when JC Hernandez launched a solo home run to right field, tying the game at 1-1 and immediately swinging momentum back toward NSU. From there, both teams exchanged short stretches of control, with Nova Southeastern taking a 3-2 lead after a two-run homer in the fourth by Hernandez and steady baserunning pressure.
- Saint Leo briefly kept pace through the middle innings, but the game truly opened up in the late stages. Nova Southeastern extended its lead to 4-2 in the fifth and added key insurance runs in the eighth inning, highlighted by a two-RBI double from Emilio Gonzalez that pushed the margin to 6-5 before Saint Leo responded.
- The Lions mounted their biggest push in the bottom of the eighth, capitalizing on a series of singles, hit-by-pitches, and situational hitting. A sacrifice bunt, RBI knocks from Thomas DeBro and Abrahan Rios, and aggressive baserunning allowed Saint Leo to surge ahead 9-6, taking advantage of every opportunity presented.
- However, Nova Southeastern's offense delivered its defining moment in the top of the ninth. Trailing by three, the Sharks mounted a relentless rally. Dakota Jones and JC Hernandez sparked the comeback, followed by clutch hits from Anthony Stinson, Emilio Gonzalez, and Michael Arnold. The inning featured RBI doubles, timely singles, and disciplined plate appearances that flipped the score completely, turning a deficit into a 12-9 lead.
- Saint Leo attempted one final push in the bottom of the ninth, adding a run on an RBI single from Eli Vickers to trim the margin to 12-10. But the Sharks were able to secure the final outs and close out the game with a 12-10 win.
