NSU Set for Semifinal Clash with Grand Valley State

SURPRISE, Az. – The third-seeded Nova Southeastern University women's tennis team is set to face second-seeded Grand Valley State in the semifinals of the 2026 NCAA Division II Women's Tennis Championship on Friday, May 22. First serve is scheduled for 12 p.m. (ET) at the Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex in Surprise, Arizona. 

The winner will advance to the national championship match to face the winner of the semifinal between fourth-seeded Catawba and top-seeded Mississippi College.

The Sharks (20-7) enter the semifinal after defeating sixth-seeded Augustana (SD), 4-0, on Wednesday night. NSU secured the doubles point with wins from the pairs of Kristyna Hranacova/Katja Markus (6-2) and Jana Boegner/Priscila Janikian (6-4). In singles play, the Sharks clinched the victory with three straight-set wins from Hranacova (6-2, 6-4), Chloe Henderson (6-2, 7-5), and Noemie Dadoun (6-3, 6-4). Nova Southeastern is making its fifth consecutive appearance in the national semifinals.

Grand Valley State (20-1) enters the match ranked No. 18 and riding a 14-match winning streak. The Lakers have not dropped a match since March 10 and captured the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) title with a perfect 7-0 record in league play. They advanced to the semifinals for the first time in program history after defeating UT Tyler, 4-1.

Leading the way for Grand Valley State is Natasha Sengphrachanh, ranked No. 11 nationally, who has compiled a perfect 24-0 singles record while playing at the top of the lineup. In doubles, Sengphrachanh teams with Valentina Mozas to form one of the Lakers' top pairs, posting a 12-2 record and earning a No. 27 national ranking by the ITA.
