LEXINGTON, Ky. - For the eighth year in a row, Nova Southeastern volleyball has taken home the AVCA Team Academic Award honoring teams that maintained a 3.3 grade point average (GPA) throughout the 2025-26 academic year.
While NSU was honored with its eighth consecutive Team Academic Award, the Sharks were also honored as a member of the AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll, representing the top 20% of GPAs nationally by division.
Volleyball programs from across the country continue to enjoy widespread success off the court as 1,432 collegiate and high school volleyball teams earned the 2026 AVCA Team Academic Award.
"It comes as no surprise to see our sport have more than 1,400 teams earn the AVCA Team Academic Award again this season," AVCA CEO Jaime Gordon said. "We are grateful for the dedication of the coaches and players who make both classroom and on-court success the lifeblood of their programs."
NSU volleyball is coming off an 18-11 season and is in the midst of a coaching transition with
Matt Geer moving into the head coaching role after serving as an assistant for four seasons.
The 2026 Nova Southeastern Volleyball season is expected to begin in just over a month as the Sharks begin their fall calendar. For more information such as the 2026 schedule and roster, follow us on social media @NSU_VBall on X and Instagram or by logging online to NSUSharks.com.
