FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern Sharks opened the 2026 season in dominant fashion, cruising to a 7-0 victory over Georgian Court on Thursday evening at the NSU Soccer Stadium. Genesis Hernandez led the offensive attack with a first-half hat trick, while Kamryn Pry added two second-half goals and an assist. Haley Mettrick and Bella Larriu each contributed to the scoring as the Sharks controlled the match from start to finish. Ewa Sikora and Gracie Brink combined for the opening day shutout.

• Hernandez got the Sharks on the board early, finding the back of the net in the fourth minute off an assist from Ella Niemela to give NSU a 1-0 lead.
• Hernandez struck again in the 22nd minute, doubling the Sharks' advantage to 2-0.
• The junior forward completed her hat trick in the 33rd minute, finishing a pass from
Alexa Bereczki and pushing NSU's lead to 3-0.
• Less than six minutes later,
Haley Mettrick added another tally in the 39th minute as the Sharks took a commanding 4-0 lead into halftime.
• In the 80th minute,
Kamryn Pry scored her first goal of the evening on an assist from
Maria Jansen, extending the advantage to 5-0.
• Pry added her second goal just six minutes later, making it 6-0 and giving the Sharks their sixth goal of the contest.
• The Sharks closed the scoring in the final minute when
Bella Larriu finished a pass from Pry in the 90th minute, sealing the 7-0 victory.

With the win, the Sharks move to 1-0-0 and will host Flagler College on Wednesday, September 2nd at 4pm.
