LAREDO, Tx. – The Nova Southeastern Women's Soccer team scored twice in the second half to pull away from Texas A&M International, earning a 3-1 victory at Amerant Bank Field at NSU Soccer Stadium. Maria Jansen opened the scoring in the first half, while Genesis Hernandez netted a pair of second-half goals, including a late insurance score, to lead the Sharks to the win.

• The Sharks struck first in the 20th minute as
Maria Jansen found the back of the net, giving NSU a 1-0 advantage midway through the opening half.
• Texas A&M International responded in the 33rd minute when Milly Garcia scored the equalizer, sending the match into halftime tied at 1-1.
• The Sharks regained control in the 56th minute as
Genesis Hernandez finished a setup from
Lova Korpas, putting Nova Southeastern back in front 2-1.

Ewa Sikora continued to anchor the NSU defense, recording four saves, including a second-half stop on Garcia to preserve the Sharks' lead.
• Nova Southeastern created several quality chances throughout the second half and was rewarded again in the 90th minute when Hernandez scored her second goal of the match off assists from
Kristina Syragakis and Jansen.
The Sharks will continue their road trip as they prepare for their next contest against St. Edward's on September 9 at 7 p.m. ET in Austin, Texas, at Community Hospital Unity Field.
