Jonas Grundstrom earned NSUSharks.com Athlete of the Week for his strong performance in the Sharks' first event of the 2011-12 season, posting a NCAA B-qualifying time in the 500 freestyle (4:41.47) to finish 10th at the All-Florida Invitational. He had another top-10 time in the 400 individual medley, finishing ninth (4:12.69), ahead of swimmers from Florida, Florida Atlantic, and Florida Southern. Grundstrom was also a key contributor to the Sharks’ top 800-yard freestyle relay team finishing sixth (7:03.54).
