Aly Hassan (Fr., Weston, Fla.) tallied his second consecutive game-winning goal and goalkeeper Jarod Rennick (Sr., Allen, Texas) recorded his second clean sheet in as many games as the Nova Southeastern Sharks (2-0) defeated the Thomas Night Hawks (0-2) by a score of 1-0 in overtime on Sunday afternoon at the Wendy's Soccer Complex.

The game was evenly-matched as NSU held a 7-6 shot advantage at the half.

In the second-half, the Sharks outshot the Night Hawks 11-6, creating more chances than Thomas. The Sharks' best chance of the game came after Thomas keeper Jan Feldman made a save on a Romain Onteniente (So., Nice, France) free kick. The rebound came to Christian Benitez (Jr., Pembroke Pines, Fla.) who ripped a shot hard off the crossbar from within the 18-yard box.

In overtime, the Sharks broke through in the 93rd minute, however, as Hassan received two crisp passes from Craig Heenighan (Fr., Widnes, England) and Darryl Gordon (Fr., Miami, Fla.) and rifled a shot into the lower left corner of the net for his second game-winning goal of the week.

For the game, NSU outshot Thomas 20-12 while fouls were even at 10 apiece. The Sharks also held a 13-3 corner kick advantage in the game.

Rennick made six saves for his second shutout of the season while Feldman made nine in a losing effort.

NSU will return to action on Friday, August 31 as they face Bentley College (Mass.) at the NSU Soccer Complex in their home opener at 6pm.
