FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern women’s volleyball team (2-9, 0-3) welcomes Lynn (7-4, 1-1) to the NSU Arena at the Don Taft University Center Friday evening for a 7 p.m. Sunshine State Conference match.

The Sharks, coming off a tough loss at Barry, are led offensively by senior Anabely Escarpita (Boca Raton, Fla.), who following her 10-kill performance at Barry on Tuesday is averaging 2.66 per set. Danielle Graham (Jr., Cincinnati, Ohio) is close behind with a 2.51 kill per set average heading into Friday’s match.

Defense continues to be the Sharks greatest strength, ranking 10th nationally in block per set with 2.45. Graham leads all Sharks with a 0.93 per set average, while Molly Sigerich (Sr., Downers Grove, Ill.) and Kristina Eric (So., Sokolac, Bosnia) are averaging 0.88 and 0.73 per set, respectively.

The Fighting Knights enter Friday’s match against the Sharks having split their first two conferences matches, losing to Tampa and defeating Florida Southern. Lynn currently leads the SSC in aces per set with a 2.00 average, which ranks 42nd nationally. Brittany Brown has accounted for a team-high 16 services aces for the Fighting Knights.

Brown also paces Lynn with a 2.97 kills per set average. Shannon Duggan (2.39), Brianna Cox (2.38) and Lizzy Raffa (2.04) each have also accounted for over two kills in each set for the Fighting Knights in 2011.

Delta Phi Epsilon sorority, inc. will be hosting its 4th annual Holler for a Doller event at the match. This event is held in order to increase attendance and school spirit at sporting events in the university. Any organization may sign up to join and whichever shows the most school spirit will be the recipient of $100 towards their organization.

DPhiE was established in the year 1917 at NYU's law school. Our philanthropic efforts include Cystic Fibrosis, Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders, and the Educational Foundation. We are proud annual sponsors of Relay for Life at NSU. Our events are very community centered and being one of the first and biggest organizations on campus we are looking to strengthen the school's attendance at large sporting events and increase school spirit and support.
