The Sharks started the game with their biggest inning of the night, scoring four runs in the first. Asuaje led off the night with a double that just got past the first baseman and would score on a RBI single from Areo Regoli (Sr., Homestead, Fla.). After Daniel Petitbon (Sr., Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) reached base on a single to left field, Javi Sujo (Sr., Miami, Fla.) drove home Regoli on a sacrifice fly. Marrero cleared the bases with his fifth home run of the season, a two-run shot to left centerfield.

The Sharks would score in each of the next three innings, including two runs in the second. Blake Boyd (Jr., Jupiter, Fla.) reached base on a fielder’s choice and scored on Asuaje’s two-run blast down the right field line. It was Asuaje’s second home run of the season, with both coming in conference play. The Sharks posted another run in the third inning, as Marrero followed his first at bat with a double and scored on a sacrifice fly from Brett Clements (Jr., Riverview, Fla.)

The Sharks posted two runs in the fourth inning, bringing their lead to 9-0. Asuaje led off the inning with a double to left field and scored on the next at bat, a single up the middle from Morales. Morales would eventually be called out at the plate. Regoli reached base in the inning off his second single and would score on another sacrifice fly from Sujo.

After Barry broke the shutout with two runs in the fifth inning, the Sharks would keep the home team scoreless for four straight innings. The Sharks posted their final run in the eighth frame, as Angel Navarro (Fr., Miami Lakes, Fla.) was plated on a sacrifice from Marrero.

The Sharks have now played Barry 10 times in just over a calendar year, with the games split down the middle at 5-5.

The series will end with a doubleheader Saturday at noon in Miami Shores, Fla.
