FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern softball team has released its 2014 spring schedule and will begin the season Feb. 1 on the road against Ave Maria in a doubleheader matchup at 1 p.m.

The Sharks' home opener will be the second day of the season, Feb. 2, against Flagler, for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. NSU will then be on the road for the majority of the first half of the season, as they play 28 of their first 30 games on the road in 2014.
While on the road, the Sharks will take part in the Eckerd College Tournament, in Clearwater, Fla., from Feb. 7-9. The team will also participate in the Palm Beach Atlantic Tournament and the Saint Leo Tournament from Feb. 21-22 and March 8-9, respectively.
NSU will play their first Sunshine State Conference series against Eckerd in a three-game set in St.. Petersburg, Fla., Feb. 28-March 1.
The Sharks close out the season playing 17 of their final 25 games at home at the AD Griffin Sports Complex. Following a long road trip, NSU begins a homestand against St. Thomas on March 22. The Sharks had success against St. Thomas a year ago, earning a clean sweep, 4-0, over the Bobcats.
NSU wraps up their regular season schedule on the road for a three-game conference series against the Rollins Tars in Winter Park, Fla., April 25-26.
The NCAA South Regional will take place starting Friday, May 9, hosted by the top team in the region. The NCAA Super Regionals will take place the following weekend, May 16-17 at a site yet to be announced. The NCAA National Championships and the conclusion of the 2014 collegiate softball season will take place in Salem, Va. May 22-26.
