RESULTS
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern track and field team finished a successful first day at the FSU relays Friday, with six members competing and one school record falling.
Brandi Nichols (Jr.,Inverness, Fla.) became the new top Shark in the women's 10,000-meter run with a time of 44.23.25, earning her a sixth-place finish. The record was held previously by Allison Henry, set in 2008 with a time of 44:28.00.
Long Tran (Jr., Saignon, Vietnam) was the top male Shark in the 10,000-meter run. His time of 32:20.11 landed him in seventh place.
Three Sharks competed in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
Peri Bowman (Jr., Virginia Beach, Va.) came in third with a time of 11:19.76 as the only female Shark in the event. On the men’s side,
Nico Crecco (Sr., Medon, N.Y.) and
Omar Hernandez (Sr., Rico Pico, Ariz.)
placed eighth and ninth with times of 9:53.00 and 9:58.48,respectively.
Timo Kilp (Jr,.Kose, Estonia) competed in the 5,000-meter run and came in ninth with a time of 15:22.73.
The Sharks will be back on the track tomorrow as they head to Miami, and will compete for the second time this season at Cobb Stadium in Coral Gables, Fla.
