FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Friday night kicks off a ton of extracurricular activities going on all throughout the three-game baseball series between Nova Southeastern and Florida Southern, at the NSU Baseball Complex.
Game one between the Sharks (21-13, 3-6 SSC) and Mocs (15-18, 7-5 SSC) begins at 6 p.m.
Vinnie Contaldi (Sr., Jupiter, Fla.), two-time conference Pitcher of the Week, is the NSU probable starter for Bark at the Park Night, benefitting the Humane Society of Broward County.
Gates will open at 5 p.m., and all well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome. There will be stadium and field seating available, and adoptable dogs will be on site from the shelter’s Adoption Ambassador Program. Admission will be free for all HSBC employees and volunteers with their HSBC name badge.
Friday night will also include NSU Baseball Alumni activities. There will be a pregame party at Quarterdeck on University Drive, hosted by Bryan Needle. A $15 wristband will get you food and drink specials, and the party will begin again following the game. All baseball alumni also receive free admission to Friday's game, and there will be an alumni section with free food courtesy of Buca di Beppo.
Finally, Friday night is a celebration of National Library Week, with free admission and food for Alvin Sherman Library guests.
The series continues with a Saturday doubleheader, beginning at 1 p.m. The Sharks are scheduled to start
Zachary Westcott (Jr., Weston, Fla.) in game one, followed by
Mitchell Buerosse (Jr., Lighthouse Point, Fla.) in the day’s second matchup.
Saturday will feature a tailgate for the Farquhar College of Arts and Science. Farquhar guests will get free admission and food for the games.
