FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern University athletic department celebrated a landmark 2012-13 season at its annual champions luncheon Tuesday at the Grande Oaks Country Club.
In attendance were all of NSU's regional and national champions from last season. Men's cross country, women's basketball and men's golf were all recognized for claiming the NCAA South Region Championship.
NSU swimmers Oskar Nordstrand and Erin Black, both seniors in 2012-13, were honored for claiming the national championship in their respective 500-yard freestyle races. Finally, the 2013 NCAA National Championship winning NSU rowing team was honored for their historic run.
The athletes in attendance received their championship rings and were congratulated individually by NSU president George Hanbury. Also in attendance to personally honor the Sharks were former NSU President and Chancellor Ray Ferrero Jr., COO and Senior Vice President Jacqueline Travisano, Board of Trustees Chairman Ronald Assaff and Associate Director of Athletics Kelley Kish.
