Women’s Soccer Falls at the Hands of Florida Tech, 3-0

The loss marks the Sharks first losing streak of the season.

Box Score FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern women's soccer team (4-3-0) lost their second consecutive match, falling to the Florida Tech Panthers (4-1-0), 3-0, Tuesday night at the NSU Soccer Complex.

All three goals were scored by the Panthers Aubri Williamson in the second half, who now has seven goals on the season, tying Malin Broberg's (Sr., Stockholm, Sweden) mark.

The first half didn't see a lot of action, as a storm was moving into the area, causing a bit of wind and rain. Each goalkeeper had to only make one save in the first half. A lot of the action was played in the middle of the field, with neither team creating a real scoring opportunity.

The second half was postponed for thirty minutes due to a lightning delay, which happened to be the boost for Williamson and the Panthers in the second half. The first goal of the match was scored just three minutes into the half as a combination play between Courtney Hueston and Williamson sprung Williamson through, scoring far post on a one-on-one.

Hueston and Williamson connected again 27 minutes later on another through ball that the Panther striker put near post and into the net, from the left side of the box.

The final goal of the match came two minutes later in the 77th minute, created solely by Williamson, who cut through the Sharks defense, made a strong move around Sandra Rolon (Jr., San Juan, P.R.) and put the ball into the open net.

Florida Tech outshot NSU 12-6 in the match, while each goalkeeper recorded three saves.

The Sharks will take their longest break of the season before they travel to Saint Leo next Wednesday, Oct. 2, with kickoff set for 5 p.m.
