Team will honor Cauffman and McCusker prior to 7 p.m. kick

LIVE STREAMING | LIVE STATS

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern University women's soccer team will host Senior Night prior to Saturday's Sunshine State Conference finale against the Eckerd Tritons at the NSU Soccer Complex.

The Sharks (5-6-0, 2-5-0 SSC) will honor Kaitlyn Cauffman (Orlando, Fla.) and Kelsey McCusker (Stone Harbor, N.J.) just before the 7 p.m. kick off. The team will look to build momentum coming off of Wednesday's 5-0 win over SSC rival Lynn.

In that match, Sierra Lelii (R-Jr., Seminole, Fla.) scored her ninth and 10th goals of the season, and is one of just five players in the SSC to reach that mark (currently tying for fourth in the league, and tying for third in the Sharks' NCAA era). Conference-wide, Lelii is third in shots per game (4.36), fifth in points per game (2.09), third in goals per game (0.91), and tied for second in goals in conference games (six). Julia Nytorp (Jr., Örnsköldsvik, Sweden) assisted on one of those Wednesday goals as well as another later score, moving into the team lead with four.

Eckerd is currently tied for fifth in the standings with two conference matches to go at 3-2-1 (and 7-5-1 overall). On the year, they have outscored their opponents 37-14, the goals allowed fourth-best in the SSC. The Tritons are third in the conference in goals scored, despite being just sixth in shots, at 184; they have scored on 20.1% of their shots, the highest mark in the SSC. The SSC average is 14.3%, and the Sharks are third at 16.5%.

On the defensive side, the Tritons have seven shutouts this season, which is tied for second, and three in six SSC games, which is tied for first. Their seven goals allowed in those six games is also tied for second, and they are only SSC team to draw less foul calls than the Sharks this season. Morgan Crescent has been in goal for all seven shutouts, making her first in the SSC, as well as third in both save percentage (0.821) and saves per game (4.92).

As Bennett Rank said last month, individually, Arie Anahory is their key to success. She's second in the conference in shots per game (4.38), second in points (32), first in points per game (2.46), tied for second in goals (12), second in goals per game (0.92), and fifth in assists (eight).

The Sharks are undefeated against the Tritons in 12 regular season matches since joining the SSC in 2004, 10-0-2, and are a perfect 6-0-0 at home. The Sharks have outscored the Tritons 31-3 in those 12 matches. Stephanie Moench (Jr., Austin, Texas) assisted Dilja Olafsdottir at the end of the 96th minute to win last season's road match 2-1. In the last meeting at the NSU Soccer Complex, two seasons ago, Malin Broberg assisted on a Lelii goal and scored one of her own, while Amanda Kopale (R-So., Cape Coral, Fla.) and the defense held the Tritons to just five shots and one on goal in a 2-0 shutout.
