JUPITER, Fla. – In a game that was played over a two-day span, due to inclement weather, Mitchell Buerosse (Sr., Lighthouse Point, Fla.) and Dillon Frye (Jr., Raleigh, N.C.), combined for a perfect game in the Sharks' (24-7), 15-0, win over Palm Beach Atlantic in the seven-inning affair.

Frye started the game on Saturday afternoon, retiring the side in the first. However, rain stopped him from throwing another pitch, pushing the rest of the game to Sunday afternoon. The game started from the last pitch in the top of the second, where Buerosse (W, 4-0) finished off the last six innings, retiring all 18 batters he faced, half of which were strikeouts. Frye recorded one strikeout in his inning of work.

"What Boomer did today was special," said head coach Greg Brown. "He commanded the baseball at the bottom of the zone and was in total control of his pitches. It was great to see the way the battery worked with Mikey Hernandez calling the pitches. Having known Boomer as long as I have and having seen his journey back from a horrific injury, makes me very proud to be able to witness what he did. This is a day that none of us will forget, as I feel privileged to have been apart of it."

Alexander Fernandez (Jr., Davie, Fla.) recorded his first career home run for the Sharks, a grand slam to one of the deepest parts of the field out in center. The slam came in the seventh for the final runs of the game. Fernandez finished the 2-for-3, with a career-high six RBI.

After the halt in play and the 4-0 head start on Sunday, the Sharks started the day with the bases loaded and two outs in the top of the second. PBA showed major command issues on the mound right off the bat, after walking two and hitting two Shark batters to double the score line to 8-0, before the final out of the inning was made.

Andrew Liberty (Fr., Boca Raton, Fla.) made the play of the game defensively, which came in the third inning, when Sailfish freshman Tyler Parker drove a two-out ball into shallow left. Liberty was able to cover just enough ground to make the head-first diving grab to preserve the perfect game.

The Sharks scored two more runs in the fifth en route to their 24th win of the year.

Alvin Swoope (Fr. Port St. Lucie) (2-for-5),  Kavan Thompson (So., Melbourne, Fla.) (1-for-3) and Michael Hernandez (Fr., Pembroke Pines, Fla.) each recorded two RBI in the win. Thompson picked up his first RBI of the game on Saturday in the top of the second on a big double down the left field line. His second came on Sunday in the same inning, after he was hit by a pitch, with the bases loaded. Hernandez picked up a bases-clearing two-RBI triple, the first of his career, in the second inning on Saturday, while Swoope picked up his two on a double coming in the fifth on Sunday.

Geoff Jimenez (Sr., Pembroke Pines, Fla.) stole two more bases, putting his total to 22 on 24 attempts on the year.

Matt Bell (L, 0-1), the freshman righty for the Sailfish, picked up his first loss of the season, pitching just 1.2 innings, after allowing seven earned on just two hits.

The Sharks return to Sunshine State Conference play for a three-game road series against Florida Southern, starting Friday, April 4, in Lakeland, Fla.
