FORT LAUDERDALE – The Nova Southeastern University women's swimming team will be back in action on Friday at 3 p.m. when they host Sunshine State Conference rival Lynn University at the NSU Aquatic Complex. Alongside the women's meet, the men's team will also be competing in an intrasquad scrimmage.
 
Currently ranked No. 4 in Division II women's swimming, the Sharks will be facing off with another top-25 team in Lynn that comes into the meet ranked 25
th.
 
The Fighting Knights come into Friday's meet with only one meet under their belt for the 16-17 season having hosted a tri meet between Saint Leo, Florida Tech and Lynn just two weeks ago. Lynn came out of the meet with a 1-1 record for the season having lost to Saint Leo 149-113, but defeated Florida Tech 132-125.
 
The NSU women are coming out of a tri meet as well where they split between the 27
th-ranked team in Division I women's swimming, Florida International and Indian River just last Friday. The Sharks fell by a narrow margin against FIU 159-121, but readily handled IRSC by a score of 190-96. The Sharks' women are 2-1 on the season and are now heading into their fourth meet of the year with the hosting of Lynn's women.
 
Malin Westman is coming off a banner week where she set two provisional qualifying times in the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke events. She swam a qualifying time of 1:04.91 in the 100 and 2:17.91 in the 200 to earn Sunshine State Conference Swimmer of the Week honors for the first time this season.
 
While both Lynn's and NSU's women compete, the Sharks men's team will be conducting an intrasquad meet between themselves. They too are coming off a win against IRSC last Friday, where Marco Aldabe swam two individual wins as well as being a part of the winning A-relay that won the 200-yard medley relay. His efforts earned him SSC Male Swimmer of the Week honors.
