No. 7 Tennis Ready to Host No. 39 Palm Beach Atlantic

The Sharks will battle the Sailfish at home on Friday, Feb. 26

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The No. 7 Nova Southeastern University tennis team is focused on defending the Shark Tank against the No. 39 Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish this Friday, Feb. 26 at 2 p.m.

The Sharks look forward to showcasing their best talent in this clash against the Sunshine State Conference provisional rivals from Palm Beach County. NSU took on a big challenge in their only match thus far, when they faced the current NCAA Division II champions, No. 1 Armstrong State. Although the Sharks did not come out on top, the team was true to their game philosophy, showcasing impressive performances in doubles and singles.

Followed by the Sharks' opening match, the SCC office presented Klaudia Boczova (Jr., Bratislava, Slovakia) with the Player of the Week award in the women's tennis category. Boczova was honored for her outstanding individual victory against nationally-ranked No. 4 Lena Lutzeiner from Armstrong State.

PBA women's tennis has already played six matches in February alone, with a record of 3-3, and NSU will be their seventh contender of the 2016 regular season. The Sailfish previously defeated St. Thomas University, Keiser University, and University of Tampa. Their three losses were all versus nationally-ranked teams: No. 31 Flagler College, No. 1 Armstrong State, and No. 4 Barry University.

Post the upcoming clash on Friday, both teams will travel to the west coast in March to face other NCAA Division II nationally-ranked teams.
