Box Score ST. LEO, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern University softball team (3-10, 0-4 SSC) dropped the first of three games on the road against the No. 14 Saint Leo Lions (10-0, 1-0 SSC), 22-0, Friday night.
Freshman
Megan Granitto (Wellington, Fla.) made her pitching debut and picked up the loss for the Sharks (0-1).
Dajia Jones (2-5) (Jr., Jacksonville, Fla.) also saw some time in the circle. Lions' Stephanie Adkins (5-0) pitched a five-inning no-hitter with eight strikeouts to earn the win for Saint Leo.
The Sharks had the game in control in the first inning as the defense held the Lions to one run and a runner left on base. Saint Leo broke the game wide open in the bottom of the second, scoring 15 runs off of 11 hits and four Shark errors. The Lions would score another three in both the bottom of the third and fourth to take us to a final of 22-0.
NSU will face Saint Leo in a doubleheader on Saturday, Feb. 27 with the first game set to begin at 12 p.m. Click
