FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern University baseball team (11-7, 3-0 SSC) will host the Lynn University Fighting Knights (11-8, 3-0 SSC) in a three-game series beginning on Friday night at 6:00 p.m. and concluding with a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 1:00 p.m. On Friday night, the Sharks will host their Think Pink Breat Cancer Awareness Night and Shark Night.
NSU comes into the series red hot, winning eight of their last 10 games and seven of their last seven at home. During that stretch, the offense production has been electric, as the team is hitting .353 with 22 home runs and an average of 10 runs scored per game. The Sharks are focused on carrying their offensive momentum into the Lynn series, as they will face a Lynn pitching staff that has an ERA of 7.18.
While the offense has put on a show, NSU's pitching has done their part too, allowing just 2.6 runs per game over the 10-game stretch. NSU's weekend staff has done an impeccable job as of late, as
Alex Mateo,
Matt Hardy and
Jonny Ortiz have combined to allow a total of six earned runs in the past three weekends.
