Box Score MATCH RESULTS
DAYTONA, Fla. – No. 7 Nova Southeastern University women's tennis team (15-1, 6-0 SSC) defeated provisional Sunshine State Conference rival Embry Riddle (7-3) by a final score of 5-0 on Tuesday, April 12 at the Crotty Tennis Complex in Daytona, Florida.
The Sharks met the Eagles for the second time this year, after the originally scheduled matches were suspended due to inclement weather conditions on Friday, March, 25. During this trip the Sharks completed the sweep against the Eagles 5-0 in all singles matches.
On the No. 1 court the Sharks went up in the lead with
Klaudia Boczova (Jr., Bratislava, Slovakia), as she defeated her opponent 6-0, 6-1.
Petra Jurova (Sr., Bratislava, Slovakia) also had success in the No. 3 singles by outmatching her opponent 6-2, 6-1.
Nastassia Rubel (Jr., Minsk, Belarus) was also very dominant in No. 4 singles with a score of 6-3, 6-1.
Carlee Rizzolo (Sr., Livingston, N.J.) took the No. 5 singles 6-2, 6-3 and
Irina Constantinide (Sr., Galati, Romania) complemented the sweep in No. 6 singles 6-0, 6-1.
Head Coach
Stephen Schram and his outstanding squad will face the toughest match of the Sunshine State Conference on Sunday, April 17 at 10 a.m. on the NSU Tennis Courts in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The result of this match will better define the Sharks' post-season destiny.
