Box Score FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Nova Southeastern University softball (11-29, 1-17 SSC) fell 9-0 to provisional Sunshine State Conference (SSC) opponent Palm Beach Atlantic (26-15) on Friday night.
Megan Granitto (Fr., Wellington, Fla.) moves to 5-10 on the season allowing 11 hits, five walks and picking up a strikeout in six innings. Amber Johnson (11-1) secures the victory for PBA giving up four hits, one walk and striking out three. The Sharks put up a total of five hits from four different batters with
Sophia Devesa (Fr., Pembroke Pines, Fla.) leading the way going 2-for-2.
The game remained scoreless for the first two innings until the Sailfish scored three runs off of four hits in the top of the third inning beginning with a two-RBI single by Ali French. Granitto began the bottom of the inning with a double to right center but was left on base.
PBA saw two more runs in the top of the fourth to go up 5-0. NSU saw a double from Devesa in the bottom of the inning but she was also left stranded. Kayla Knight's two-out triple to right field in the top of the fourth widened the gap to 7-0. PBA's final two runs came from a two-RBI double to right center by Loren Kilgore.
