HOW IT HAPPENED:
SET 1 | The Bucs grabbed an early 5-1 advantage, capitalizing on errors made by the Sharks and a kill by Johanna Voss. A kill by
Samantha Blasko and errors committed by the Bucs helped the Sharks get within two points at 8-6, but would be as close as they would get as Barry went on to take set one, 25-13.
SET 2 | After a close first couple points to begin the set, the Sharks used a 5-2 run to take a 10-6 lead. Barry put up back-to-back points to bring the score to 10-8, but NSU took off on a 7-2 run to earn a 17-10 edge over the visitors. Barry responded, however, with a strong 10-2 run of their own to steal the lead, 20-19. NSU was able to knot the game once more, 20-20, but the momentum was on Barry's side and with a 25-21 win, the Bucs were up 2-0.
SET 3 | Much like set one, Barry was hot out of the gates early in set three, taking a 12-5 lead before NSU called timeout. A timeout gave NSU a spark of energy, as the home team came back on the court to put up a 5-1 run and bring the deficit to three at 13-10. Barry took back control, however, for a 19-13 lead, before NSU slowly started to chip away at their lead. A 7-3 run by the Sharks brought them within two at 22-20, but it wasn't enough as Barry put up three-consecutive points for the 25-20 win.
