HOW IT HAPPENED:
SET 1 | The beginning of the first set was neck-and-neck as the Sailfish went up, 3-1, only for the Sharks to respond quickly and take the lead, 4-3. A three-point run by PBA a couple points later gave the visiting team an 11-8 advantage, and although the Sharks fought to stay within a few points of the lead, ultimately PBA used multiple small runs to pull away and grab a 25-17 win.
SET 2 | A 7-2 early sprint by the Sailfish called for an NSU timeout, only for the Sailfish to come right back and grab an even bigger lead at 13-3. Another timeout was used by the Sharks, and they returned to the court with a passion to not let up, tallying five points in a row, including three aces by
Denvyr Tyler-Palmer, to bring the score to 13-8. It wasn't enough, however, as PBA used a 9-2 run to take an 18-10 lead and never look back, taking set two 25-13.
SET 3 | The final set of the match was similar to the first, seeing the two teams stay within five points of each other until at 13-10 in PBA's favor, the Sailfish utilized a 9-2 run to take a commanding 22-12 lead. The Sharks were able to register four more points throughout the remainder of the game, but the Sailfish came away with a 25-16 win and overall 3-0 victory.
