MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern University women's tennis team (5-7, 2-3 SSC) suffered its third straight loss, falling to the No. 3 Barry Buccaneers (19-0, 7-0 SSC) by a score of 8-1 at the Buccaneer Tennis Center on Thursday.

For the second match in a row, the Sharks were swept in the doubles matches and were down 4-0 going into singles after a forfeit at the No. 6 spot. Barry then sealed its 19th victory of the season with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 3. After picking up wins at No. 2, 4 and 5, Barry was looking for the 9-0 sweep, but Perez took down No. 18 Dasha Salnikova, 7-5, 6-4 in the top-flight for her third straight win over a nationally-ranked opponent. The win also improves the Valencia, Venezuela native's record to 11-0 on the season.
The Sharks will return to the NSU Tennis Complex on Sunday, Apr. 2 to host No. 25 Florida Southern at 10:00 a.m.
