MIAMI SHORES
, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern University women's tennis team (5-7, 2-3 SSC) suffered its third straight loss, falling to the No. 3 Barry Buccaneers (19-0, 7-0 SSC) by a score of 8-1 at the Buccaneer Tennis Center on Thursday.

"Barry is a very solid team with great players, easily one of the best teams in the country," head coach Doug Neagle said. "LP (Luicelena Perez) continues to dominate on the court, and she is always positive no matter the outcome."

For the second match in a row, the Sharks were swept in the doubles matches and were down 4-0 going into singles after a forfeit at the No. 6 spot. Barry then sealed its 19th victory of the season with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 3. After picking up wins at No. 2, 4 and 5, Barry was looking for the 9-0 sweep, but Perez took down No. 18 Dasha Salnikova, 7-5, 6-4 in the top-flight for her third straight win over a nationally-ranked opponent. The win also improves the Valencia, Venezuela native's record to 11-0 on the season.
