CLEVELAND – The Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association (D2 CCA) has announced that
Kristyna Hranacova has been named the South Regional Female Scholar Athlete of the Year for the 2025-26 academic year.
Hranacova, one of the captains for NSU's national championship-winning tennis team, was named the Sunshine State Conference's Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year back in June. She was put up against nominees from the SIAC and Gulf South Conference to win the South Region award.
All eight regional winners advance to the national ballot for consideration for the 2025-26 Female Scholar Athlete of the Year.
The other nominees are:
- Atlantic – Taylor Hinkle – Holy Family University – Women's Basketball
- Central – Olivia Reed-Thyne – Colorado Mesa University – Women's Basketball
- East – Anna Coulter – East Stroudsburg University – Volleyball
- Midwest – Emily Mears-Bentley – Findlay University – Swimming & Diving
- Southeast – Bree Ehmer – Catawba College – Women's Soccer
- South Central – Rylee Lemos – Central Oklahoma University - Softball
- West – Scottie Ellsworth – Central Washington University – Volleyball
Hranacova adds another to her long list of academic awards from the 2025-26 season including: SSC Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year, CSC First Team Academic All-American, and was named a NSU Director's Board Honoree.
That only scratches the surface of Hranacova's accomplishments as she excels athletically as well. This past season, the Czech native finished the season ranked No. 1 nationally in singles and doubles by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), becoming the first-student athlete to do so at the Division II level since 2017 and the first to do so in the same season as winning the team national championship since 2000.
She was also named an ITA All-American and a First Team All-SSC selection in both singles and doubles play.
Hranacova now advances for consideration for the 2025-26 D2 CCA Women's Scholar-Athlete of the Year award which will be announced before the end of the month.
