FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – After a strong performance this past weekend in a 200-62 victory over the Florida Southern Moccasins,
Jenna Johns has earned her first SSC Swimmer of the Week award. While this is the sophomore's first honor this season, this is her fourth all-time.
Along with
Suzanne Afchain,
Kaylee Gassen,
Elizabeth Zubero, Johns helped the women's 200 medley relay to a first-place finish in 1:45.16. The Ambler, Penn. native also helped the 400 freestyle relay (Johns,
Caroline Oster,
Emma Sundstedt and Gassen) to a win with a time of 3:33.06.
Individually, Johns earned the win in the 50 free with a time of 23.73, good enough for an NCAA B-cut standard. She also won in the 100 butterfly in 56.36, just .05 seconds short of her second B-cut time.
The Sharks will wrap up its 2018-19 home competition next Saturday at the NSU Aquatic Center, hosting Florida Tech at 12:00 p.m.
