WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – An overcast and rainy morning at the Lake Lytal Aquatic Center didn't put a damper on the Nova Southeastern men's and women's swimming teams on Saturday, as the Sharks ran away with victories on both sides of the dual meet against the Keiser Seahawks to close out their final regular season competition.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Sharks women scored wins in every event they competed, accounting for 13 first-place finishes, kicking off the day with a win in the 200 medley relay. Suzanne Afchain, Kaylee Gassen, Aleksandra Maslova and Jenna Johns won with a combined time of 1:47.93 to open the meet.
- The men earned first place in 10-of-14 events, collecting their first victory of the meet in the 200 medley relay, as newcomer Aleksei Averchenko, Cory Klemm, Magnus Poulsen and Jonathon Yanello combined for a 1:34.44 winner.
- In the meet's final event, the men's team closed with gold in the 200 freestyle relay as Yanello, Julian Coster, Poulsen and Alec Dawson won in 1:25.98.
- The women's 200 free relay recorded the top time at 1:38.89, but all four NSU teams swam only in exhibition in the event.
TOP INDIVIDUAL PERFORMERS:
- Elizabeth Zubera captured a pair of the women's wins, coming in first in the 100 breaststroke at 1:07.96 and the 100 butterfly in 58.13.
- Averchenko also captured two individual wins to lead the men's squad, with a 1:50.09 in the 200 butterfly and a 1:51.12 in the 200 backstroke, providing a solid debut for the junior, coming to Fort Lauderdale from Fresno Pacific.
- Maslova added a second individual double-winner for NSU women, topping the 200 butterfly at 2:05.57 and 400 individual medley in 4:31.52.
- Emma Sundstedt notched the Sharks' first individual win of the day, swimming 10:44.20 for the 23-second victory in the 1000 freestyle. Bernardo Abascal registered a 9:45.73 for a 16-second win on the men's side of the event.
- Yelizaveta Buluchevskaya topped the women's 200 freestyle in 1:58.77, while the men also claimed the top spot in the event with Lliam Dolan's 1:45.09.
- Johns recorded a 57.87 to lead the field in the women's 100 backstroke.
- Closing out the first half of the meet, Hannah Treischmann swam 24.79 to win the 50 freestyle.
- The 100 freestyle again saw the Sharks double-up on wins, scoring the top three positions in both the women's and men's races, led by wins for Laurel Fink (53.83) and Yanello (47.53).
- Joining Averchenko as a winner in the 200 backstroke, Suzanne Afchain went 2:11.53 for the women.
- The 200 breaststroke saw a win for Molly Griswold in 2:26.68.
- In the 500 freestyle, the Sharks doubled-up with wins for Tyler Fell (5:17.98) and Vincent Lijoi (4:45.09).
- Poulsen captured an individual win to go with the two relay victories, winning the 100 butterfly in 51.09.
- Spencer Hohm was on top of NSU's sweep of the first three positions in the men's 400 individual medley at 4:10.55 to close out the day's individual events.
