HOW IT HAPPENED:

SET 1 | Down 10-9, the Sharks used a 5-0 run sparked by a kill by Brittany Landrum to take a 14-10 lead and force the Mocs to call for their first timeout. Returning to the floor, Florida Southern was able to cut NSU's lead to one at 15-14 and again at 16-15 before a 4-0 run pushed the Sharks out in front, 20-15. FSC stayed close towards the end of the set, coming within two at 21-19, but a 4-1 run starting and ending with Moccasin errors gave NSU set one, 25-20.

SET 2 | Tied at 6-6, back-to-back blocks by Alex Boone and Gabby Bauch started a 4-0 run by the Sharks, costing FSC a timeout and giving NSU a 10-6 edge. The Sharks held onto their lead with Florida Southern following close behind before a 5-0 run capped with a solo block by Landrum gave NSU a solid 18-12 lead. The Sharks continued to put on the pressure, going up by as many as seven at 24-17. After a couple of FSC points allowed, a kill by Ally Ford sealed the deal to give NSU a 2-0 overall lead with a 25-19 win.

SET 3 | The Moccasin held the lead throughout the entire third set, going up 16-11 before NSU called for a timeout. The Sharks were able to come within three at 18-15 and again at 19-16, both times with kills by Boone, but the home team wasn't able to overcome the Mocs as they went on to take set three, 25-19, and prohibit the sweep.

SET 4 | Unlike the third set, NSU was in control early, going up 7-2 before a Florida Southern timeout. Returning to the floor, the Mocs used a 6-2 run to come within two, forcing the Sharks to use a timeout of their own. From there, a 5-0 run by Nova Southeastern, jumpstarted by a kill by McKenna Tucek, pulled the Sharks away from the Mocs. NSU took their largest lead of the set thus far at 18-12 with a kill by Ford, going up again by six at 21-15 with an ace by Ford as FSC used their final timeout. At 24-18 with NSU in front, Florida Southern hinted at a rally with a 3-0 run, but a kill by Ford halted that thought and gave NSU the 25-21 set four win and overall victory.
