CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Finishing action in the 2019 Sheraton Le Meridien Fall Frenzy Invite hosted by Queens University of Charlotte, the Nova Southeastern swim teams each placed in the Top-5. The women, whose Sunday was highlighted by
Emma Sundstedt and
Sasha Maslova's first-place finishes finished fourth while the men claimed third place.
INSIDE THE MEET:
FINAL WOMEN'S STANDINGS: Nova Southeastern Sharks (2,053.5 points) – 4th Place out of 16

HOW IT HAPPENED:
TOP INDIVIDUAL PERFORMERS:
- Emma Sundstedt earned her second win of the invite in the 1,650 freestyle, topping the competition in 16:42.24.
- In the 200 backstroke, Cassandra Wright finished in third place with her time of 1:58.64. Aleksei Averchenko also took third in the event in 1:49.38. Both times were good enough for NCAA B-Standards.
- In the women's 100 freestyle, Johns placed fifth with a time of 51.68, her fourth individual NCAA B-Cut of the weekend. Alec Dawson also placed fifth on the men's side in 45.45m also a B-Standard.
- Caily Friel placed fourth in the 200 breaststroke, an NCAA B-Cut.
- Sasha Maslova earned her second gold of the weekend in the 200 fly with an NCAA B-Cut time of 2:00.42. Magnus Poulsen finished sixth in the event in 1:51.59.
UP NEXT
The Sharks will head south to Miami on Dec. 17 to compete against FIU. The meet is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m.
