TAMPA, Fla. – A small group of men's and women's swimmers from Nova Southeastern traveled to Tampa on Monday to compete in the first day of the 2019 Spartan Invite.
Emma Sundstedt grabbed first place in the 1,000 freestyle with a season-best time of 10:01.95.

TOP INDIVIDUAL PERFORMERS:
- Vincent Lijoi finished second in the men's 1,000 freestyle with a time of 9:23.62. His time was also a season-best. Caleb Fell took third place overall with his career-best time of 9:28.74.
- Also competing in the 1000 freestyle on the women's side were Tyler Fell (10:33.35), Hannah Pariseault (10:34.88), Liza Buluchevskaya (10:43.24) and Maeve Hunt (10:43.96).
- During the prelims in the morning, Evan Weber and Tristan Hichkad swam in the 200 IM, posting times of 2:00.14 and 2:02.06, respectively.
- Also in the prelims, Weber and Kaden Mackey recorded times of 22.46 and 22.73, respectively.
UP NEXT
The Sharks women's team will compete in a non-conference meet against FIU on Tuesday, Dec. 17. NSU's first meet of 2020 will be held at the NSU Aquatic Center on Jan. 10.
