HOW IT HAPPENED:
In the early going, it appeared the Sharks and Argonauts were destined to mirror one another, trading early blank frames and scores in the third, but West Florida converted offensive opportunities as the evening's temperatures crashed into the 50s, putting scores on the board across four consecutive innings to gain the upper hand.

Producing the first run of the night, a third-inning walk came back to bite the Sharks, as Matt Sullivan plated Dylan Menhennett on the Argonauts first hit of the night – an RBI double that broke the early-game deadlock.

However, NSU first baseman Garrett Wolforth didn't let the lead simmer long, sparking the Sharks with a leadoff double in the top of the fourth. An Ian Acevedo walk and back-to-back singles from Samuel Duran and Mike Rojas (RBI) evened the score in short order at 1-1.

It looked like a see-saw game in the making, but the Argonauts took advantage of a new look via an NSU pitching change - plating a pair of runs in the fourth to pull out to a 3-1 lead. A set of runs in the fifth for UWF, including a three-run Menhennett home run broke the game open, as NSU saw challenges in converting on baserunners. The Argonauts added two more runs in the sixth to go up 9-3 before the trio of Gil Torres, Anthony Difede and Gabe Rodriguez combined to shut down UWF in the final frames.

In the meantime, NSU generated another spark in the sixth to cut into the deficit, as Christian Demby scored on a Bryan Diaz single. Diaz also crossed home on a Duran RBI groundout.
