No. 5 Sharks Dominate Georgia College in Sweep at Valdosta

NSU delivered all three doubles and nailed all 12 singles sets

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Playing on neutral ground at the Valdosta State Tennis Courts in Valdosta, Ga., the No. 5 Nova Southeastern women's tennis team (2-0) collected their first perfect 7-0 and first straight-set sweep of the season, dominating Georgia College (0-2) up and down the lineup to kick-off a two-match weekend in the Peach State.
  
DOUBLES
  • For the second consecutive match, the Sharks claimed all three doubles matches, with Celia Montero Estevan and Ivana Djordjevic kicking things off on a 6-2 victory over Kim Yatribi and Emily Pope in the third flight.
  • At No. doubles, Karolina Snita and Diane Follin-Arbelet followed with a doubles-securing victory over Jordan Bowie and Emma Fleming, 6-3.
  • Wrapping up the pairs at No. 2, Tingting Pei and Isabella Lowrey went 6-4 over Irina Berklich and Tyla Carter.
SINGLES
  • The Sharks did not drop a single set to the Bobcats, with Caitlyn Khan delivering the most commanding victory of the day, going 6-0, 6-0 past Pope in No. 6 singles.
  • Montero Estevan turned in the next win, topping Berklich, 6-0, 6-3 in the third flight.
  • Securing the overall match victory, Djordjevic defeated Carter, 6-2-, 6-2, in the fives.
  • Next to turn in a win was Follin-Arbelet at No. 4, topping Bowie, 6-2, 6-1.
  • Taking in her first top flight appearance, Snita defeated Yatribi, 6-1, 6-0 in the long, but commanding win.
  • Delivering the sweep at the No. 2 slot, Pei pushed past Fleming, 6-0, 6-4 to make it 7-0 with 12 straight NSU set victories.
