Grant Leads Sharks to Third Straight Victory

Kyarrah Scores 20 points to Pace Sharks


WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Nova Southeastern Women's Basketball extended its winning streak to three, defeating the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish 65-51 on Wednesday evening. Kyarrah Grant led the way for NSU, scoring a game-high 20-points on 8-10 shooting, including 3-3 from beyond the arc. Grant also added seven rebounds, one block, and one steal.

 HOW IT HAPPENED
1ST QUARTER – Madeline Hardy got the scoring started for NSU, making the first two baskets for the Sharks and putting the score at 5-4 in favor of the Sailfish. McKenah Peters sank a three-pointer to cut the PBA advantage to 11-9, following the first quarter media timeout. NSU finished the first quarter trailing 17-13.

2ND QUARTER – Kyarrah Grant brought the Sharks within one point with 3:22 remaining in the first half. Over the final 1:51 of the second quarter, Nova Southeastern outscored Palm Beach Atlantic 7-2 and went into the halftime break leading 30-29.

3RD QUARTER – PBA started the second half on an 8-4 run, but Makenna Drabick sparked a 7-2 run by NSU, which was capped by a Grant three-point make, giving the Sharks a 41-39 lead. Grant then followed that three-pointer with the next seven points for NSU putting Nova Southeastern ahead 48-39. Hardy finished the quarter by making a lay-up, putting NSU ahead 50-39 as the game went into the fourth quarter.

4TH QUARTER – NSU and PBA traded buckets to begin the fourth quarter, before Grant started a brief 7-0 run for Nova Southeastern to put the Sharks in front 59-45. Nova Southeastern sealed the third straight win for the Sharks from the free throw line, taking the 65-51 victory over the Sailfish.
