NSU Drops SSC Match Against Lynn

BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Nova Southeastern Sharks Volleyball team took on their Sunshine State Conference foe Lynn on Tuesday night. The Sharks were defeated in three-sets (17-25, 18-25, 20-25).

HOW IT HAPPENED  

  • Elizabeth Price and Kate Mihacevich began the match by each recording a kill, giving NSU a 2-1 advantage.  

  • Lynn responded by taking a 6-3 lead, but the Sharks responded with three consecutive points, including an ace from Mihacevich to bring the score to 6-6.  

  • The Knights reclaimed the lead and NSU wasn't able to battle back, dropping the opening set 17-25. 

  • Lynn began the second set with a 10-3 lead, but Nova Southeastern rallied to cut the Knights lead to one following a three-point run, which was capped off by back-to-back service aces from Mihacevich.  

  • Lynn was victorious in the second set as the Sharks fell behind in the match 2-0. 

  • Trailing in the match, the Nova Southeastern Sharks opened the third set on a 5-1 run, punctuating the rally with a block by Jordan Chessar and Taylor Stockman

  • Mihacevich added two more kills to her total and put NSU in front 13-11.  

  • NSU dropped the third set, and the match, by a score of 20-25. 

UPCOMING 

The Sharks host Embry-Riddle in a Sunshine State Conference match-up on Friday, Oct. 7, from the Rick Case Arena. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
