HOW IT HAPPENED

The first three batters for Lynn reached base to open the Sunshine State Conference series finale, as the Knights took an early 2-0 lead after a two-run double in the top of the first. Sharks starting pitcher Jeremy Cook then retired the next two hitters he faced but allowed an RBI single as Lynn closed the inning with a 3-0 advantage. New leadoff hitter Duncan Pastore wasted no time making an impact in his new spot, reaching first on a single and stealing second base to put himself in scoring position. Adam Frank drove in Pastore on a fielder's choice.

Cook settled in, following the bumpy start, holding the Knights off the scoreboard from the second to the fourth inning. In the bottom of the inning, Nik Sanders worked a four-pitch walk and moved into scoring position on a double from Daniel Irisarri. Gabriel Rivera followed with a double of his own, driving in both runners to tie the game at 3-3. The Sharks offense didn't stop there, as Kolbe Aven plated Rivera with an RBI single and Aven later scored on a sacrifice fly from Pastore to cap the inning as the Sharks plated four runs, taking a 5-3 lead.

Lynn responded with a pair of runs in the top of the fifth, tying the game 5-5 and then scored two more in the top half of the seventh, reclaiming the lead 7-5 over the Sharks late in the contest. The Sharks were unable to rally in the seventh, eighth, and ninth innings, dropping the series finale, 9-5 against Lynn.
