RICHMOND, VA. – The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced its NCAA Women's Division II award winners and All-Americans for the 2022-23 season.
No. 1 Nova Southeastern Head Coach
Ben Hewitt earns CSCAA Coach of the Year honors, while
Emily Trieschmann – following winning five NCAA National Titles – was recognized as the CSCAA Swimmer of the Year.
The awards were determined by a nationwide vote of CSCAA-member Division II head swimming coaches and head diving coaches. All-Americans are selected based on their finish at the NCAA Championships. Only student-athletes who computed in their championship finals are eligible for All-American Honors. NCAA relays & individuals must score in the top-8 to earn first-team honors, while those who finish ninth through sixteenth earn second-team honors.
Hewitt guided the top-ranked Sharks to the program's first ever NCAA National Championship – the ninth team title in NSU Athletics History – with Nova Southeastern winning 11 individual titles during the championship meet. The Sharks amassed 536.5 points en route to the title. Hewitt also guided the NSU Women's Swim team to the program's third consecutive Sunshine State Conference title.
Trieschmann was exceptional during the NCAA National Championship meet, winning titles in the 1000-freestyle, 500-freestyle, 1650-freestyle, and was a part of both the 200 and 800-freestyle relay teams. Trieschmann set the NCAA record in the 1000-freestyle with a time of 9:43.25.

Savanna Best (200-breaststroke; 400-medley relay;200-medley relay) all won national titles during the NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships.

NSU Men's Swimming had seven All-American honorees – Steven Aimable, Luca Alessandrini Jarryd Baxter, Thomas Flower, Umberto Marsic, Mateus Ribeiro, and Olle Williamsson.
