FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Nova Southeastern's Bridie McCann was named WBCA D2CIDA National Player of the Week on Tuesday afternoon. The junior earned this honor on the heels of being named SSC Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday by the league office.

McCann is coming off a stellar week, having dropped a career-high 29 points, six rebounds and four assists in the Sharks' 65-57 victory over ninth-ranked Embry-Riddle on Saturday. Prior to that, she recorded 16 points and four assists in an 86-77 triumph over the rival Barry Buccanners. For the week, she averaged 22.5 points, 4.0 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals, which led to her SSC Player of the Week Honors. 

McCann currently leads the 11th-ranked Sharks in scoring with 15.9 points, and she has been the Sharks' best three-point shooter. The Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania native has connected on 45.5% (30-for-66) of her three-point attempts, and she's had five games where she has hit four or more three-pointers. McCann is also averaging 3.0 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game, and her 23 total assists is tied for second on the team.
