Trio of Sharks Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

AUSTIN, Tex. – Three Nova Southeastern Women's Basketball players have earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors after excelling both on the court and in the classroom.

Kaliyah Morales, Markayla Holland and Taydra Simpson all made the list after leading the way on the court for the Sharks as three of the top four point getters this season for head coach Heather Macy.

The 2025-26 Academic All-District Women's Basketball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes women's basketball honorees in four divisions – NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Morales, Holland and Simpson are now considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot announced on April 15.

Morales ended the season as NSU's leading scorer averaging 14.9 points-per-game.

Holland excelled defensively leading the Sharks in rebounds and steals breaking the NSU program record for steals in a single season.

Simpson was Coach Macy's floor general, leading the Sharks in minutes played but also stepped up defensively leading the SSC Tournament Champions in blocks this season with 36.

However, all three etched their names in the NSU Women's Basketball Record Book with all three earning over 90 steals on the season, breaking the all-time record for steals in a single season at NSU, previously held by Meixandra Porter in the 2012-13 season with 77.

Morales also makes her way into the history books in another department as her 493 points this season are tenth most in a single Sharks season.

NSU captured the SSC Tournament crown and a berth in the NCAA South Regional Tournament to No. 1 seed, and host Alabama-Huntsville who has since made its way into the Final Four in Pittsburgh.
