Head Coach Heather Macy Departs NSU for Georgia Southern

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Nova Southeastern Women's Basketball head coach Heather Macy has stepped down from her position as head coach to accept a new head coaching role at Georgia Southern University.

"We are grateful to Coach Macy for her leadership, passion, and commitment to our student-athletes and program," Interim Athletic Director Ryan Romero said. "During her tenure, she made a lasting impact both on and off the court, and we wish her continued success in this next chapter of her career."

Coach Macy led the program for just one season but made an impact on the court and the community. Under her guidance, the team made it to its fourth straight NCAA Tournament and set new marks in points scored, rebounding margin, and turnovers.

"I am thankful for my time at Nova Southeastern University and proud of what we accomplished together," said Macy. "This program holds a special place in my heart, and I am excited for the future both here and at Georgia Southern University."

A national search for the program's next head coach will begin immediately. Nova Southeastern University remains committed to building on the strong foundation established and continuing the tradition of excellence in women's basketball.
