FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. - The 17th-ranked Nova Southeastern Softball team dropped tonight's SSC series opener against the Embry-Riddle Eagles in extra innings at the NSU Softball Stadium. A late rally by NSU put them in position to secure the victory, but the Eagles weathered the storm and upset the Sharks 7-6.

BOT 1st – Lauren Margolis started the scoring with an RBI double to center field, bringing two runners across home plate to give NSU the early 2-0 lead.
BOT 2nd – The Sharks put another run on the board to extend the Sharks lead to 3-0.
TOP 5th – Embry-Riddle came alive, scoring six runs to go ahead 6-3.
BOT 6th – With one runner on base, Tori Copeland homered to left field to cut the Sharks deficit to one run.
BOT 7th – Cassidy Duskin hit an RBI single to third base, tying the game at seven apiece.
TOP 9th – ERU weathered the storm, scoring their seventh run of the game, and ultimately securing the 7-6 upset win over.

The Sharks and Spartans will return to NSU Softball Stadium on Friday, April 17th, for a doubleheader starting at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
