FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The 17th-ranked Nova Southeastern Softball team split today's SSC Doubleheader against the Embry-Riddle Eagles at the NSU Softball Stadium. The Eagles took the 5-2 victory in game one, but clutch batting from NSU secured the 5-4 thriller in game two.

TOP 1st – ERU struck first, taking the 1-0 advantage.
BOT 4th – Abbey Moore earned an RBI double to left field to tie the game at one. Shortly after, an error by the Eagles' defense allowed the second Shark run to score.
TOP 6th – ERU tied the game with an RBI single to right field.
BOT 8th – Embry-Riddle exploded with three runs in the bottom of the eighth to take a commanding 5-2 lead.
Nova Southeastern tried to battle back, but it wasn't enough as they dropped game one of Saturday's doubleheader against Embry-Riddle.

TOP 2nd – An RBI by Samantha Dixon opened the scoring for NSU as they took an early 1-0 lead.
BOT 3rd – The Eagles answered with two runs to go up 2-1.
BOT 6th – Tierani Teslow hit a sacrifice fly to center field, bringing home Abbey Moore and tying the game at two apiece.
TOP 7th – ERU hit an RBI double to right field and reclaimed the lead.
BOT 7th – An error by the Eagles allowed the game-tying run to score, tying the game at three apiece.
TOP 12th – After being held scoreless for several innings, Embry-Riddle finally brought a run home and took a 4-3 advantage.
BOT 12th – The Sharks weren't going away yet as Brianna Matthews singled to center field and brought home Samantha Dixon to tie the game at four. Shortly after, with the bases loaded, Cassidy Duskin was hit by a pitch, ultimately bringing home the game-winning run and securing the game two win for NSU.
NSU will travel to Lakeland, Florida, to take on Florida Southern in a three-game SSC series beginning April 25th at 7:00 p.m.
