MIAMI SHORES, Fla. - The Nova Southeastern Sharks Baseball team extended its winning streak to eight consecutive games, defeating the Barry Buccaneers 12-4 on Monday night at Feinbloom Field. After trailing 4-0 in the opening three innings, NSU rallied to score 12 unanswered runs - including a seven-run top of the eighth inning - in the victory.
Xavier Moronta paced the Sharks offense, collecting three hits, and has now reached base in 30 consecutive games.
Pedro Acosta,
Kader Rabagh, and
Edwin Alicea combined to throw 5.1 shutout innings out of the bullpen.

- Barry got on the scoreboard in the first inning with an RBI groundout.
- The Buccaneers plated another run by executing a squeeze play in the bottom of the second inning, extending their lead to 2-0.
- Barry added two more runs in the bottom of the third, extending their advantage to 4-0 over the Sharks, with a two run single
- Cue got NSU on the scoreboard with a two-run home run, cutting the deficit to 4-2.
- Xavier Moronta put the score at 4-3 with an RBI single, driving in Jorge DeGoti, in the top of the fifth inning.
- Zeth Rodriguez tied the game for NSU with an RBI single in the top of the sixth inning.
- Rodriguez worked a bases loaded walk in the top of the eighth inning, giving NSU their first lead of the game.
- Justin Wachs extended the lead to 6-4 with an RBI single.
- Moronta followed with an RBI hit of his own, pushing the lead to 7-4.
- NSU plated four more runs in the frame, breaking the game open, and taking an 11-4 lead.
- Matthew Corpas led off the top of the ninth with a solo home run, giving NSU a 12-4 advantage.
- Edwin Alicea sealed the 12-4 victory by recording the final three outs, as the Sharks won their eighth consecutive game.
