ORLANDO, Fla. - The Sunshine State Conference announced its weekly award winners for the week of February 2-8, and four Sharks were highlighted. Kaliyah Morales, Taydra Simpson, Gracelyn Wallace and Kristyna Hranacova were named Women's Basketball Player and Defensive Player of the Week, Softball Pitcher of the Week and Women's Tennis Player of the Week, respectively.
Morales delivered a strong offensive performance in the Sharks' road win against Barry. She scored a game-high and career-high 29 points in just 23 minutes, shooting 83% (10-for-12) from the field while adding four assists and two steals in Nova Southeastern's lone game of the week.
Simpson played a pivotal defensive role in the Sharks' strong outing in their road win at Barry. She recorded 10 steals against the Buccaneers, a career high and a program single game record. She added four assists, two rebounds, five points, while fueling Nova Southeastern's transition game in their single game of the week.
Wallace went 3–0 with a 0.70 ERA across 20 innings in three appearances, recording 20 strikeouts and allowing just 14 hits on the weekend. She pitched back-to-back complete-game victories against Saginaw Valley without allowing a run, striking out 14, and closed the weekend with a complete-game win versus East Stroudsburg, striking out six. This marks Wallace's third weekly honor of her career.
Hranacova put together an impressive and consistent showing across three matches from the top of the lineup, finishing 3-0 in both singles and doubles against Saint Thomas University, Valdosta State University, and the University of Alabama at Montgomery. This marks the second weekly honor of Hranacova's career.

Both Morales and Simpson will be back in action, as the women's basketball team will host Lynn University on February 11 at 5:30 PM, while Wallace and the softball team will prepare to travel to Georgia on February 14-15. Hranacova and Women's Tennis will travel to Boca Raton to take on Lynn University on February 16 at 2:00 PM.
