Isaac White Named Nova Southeastern University Women's Basketball Head Coach

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.—Isaac White, assistant women's basketball coach and recruiting coordinator at University of Findlay in Ohio, has been named head coach for women's basketball at Nova Southeastern University (NSU), beginning May 1.

White has been assistant women's basketball coach at Findlay since 2023 where he led the development of offensive strategies and skill-building initiatives for the team, while also leading their recruitment efforts and advancing academic and athletic performance.

He started his coaching career at Findlay as assistant coach for the perennial powerhouse Division II Great Midwest Athletic Conference men's basketball team as part of their 2021-22 run to the NCAA national tournament. He then spent a one-year stint at University of Massachusetts-Lowell as the men's team's special assistant to the coaching staff where he helped lead the River Hawks to a 26-8 record and a second-place finish in their Division I American East Conference.

"I look forward to the opportunity to lead this dynamic women's DII program that's coming off a very powerful season," said White. "Having won this year's Sunshine Conference Tournament and making it to the NCAA national tournament for four years running, it's clear that these student-athletes are setting a high bar in all they do. I'm proud to become an NSU Shark again and honored to help them continue their rise in the coming seasons."

"I'm thrilled to welcome Isaac White to our Sharks family as the leader of our outstanding women's basketball program," Ryan Romero, Interim Director of Athletics said. "Winning has been a hallmark of our women's basketball program, with 10 NCAA Tournament appearances in the past 14 years, nine regular season conference championships, four conference tournament titles, and four NCAA Region championships. That tradition of success sets the standard for everything we do, and Isaac White is the right leader to carry that legacy forward into our next chapter. His experience as a coach, recruiter, and approach to the game gives him a unique understanding of the championship culture that defines Nova Southeastern University."

During his undergraduate college years, White played for the NSU men's basketball team under head coach Jim Crutchfield, producing 122 points in seven starts across 24 games played in the 2017-18 season.

"Isaac White knows NSU and knows Shark basketball," Harry Moon, M.D., president and chief executive officer of NSU said. "It's rewarding to be able to bring back a former player to support and help advance the hard-charging women's basketball program here at NSU. As a courtside fan of theirs, I know first-hand of their stellar drive, character, and excellence both on and off the court. I'm excited to see what Coach White and this winning squad will achieve together in the coming season."

White received his bachelor's degree in psychology and history from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in 2020 where, as a member of their men's basketball team, he scored 662 points in two years. He'll return to South Florida from Findlay, Ohio, with his wife, Nicole.
