Four Sharks Earn All-SSC Baseball Honors for 2026 Season

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Sunshine State Conference (SSC) announced its 2026 All-SSC Baseball honorees Thursday afternoon. The Nova Southeastern Sharks had four student-athletes recognized: Jorge DeGoti earned First Team honors, while Nick Manning and Federico Zapata were named to the Second Team. Roylan Quevedo was selected to the All-SSC Defensive Team.

DeGoti received the first all-conference honor of his career following another strong season at the top of the Sharks' lineup. He led the team with a .335 batting average and 56 hits, while ranking second in doubles (11), home runs (6), and slugging percentage (.529). Over the past two seasons, DeGoti has totaled 79 hits, nine home runs, 43 RBIs, and 14 doubles, while scoring 52 runs and posting a .306 batting average.

Manning anchored the Sharks' pitching rotation throughout the 2026 campaign. He ranked second on the team in innings pitched (72.0), trailing only Zapata, and led NSU with 72 strikeouts while holding opponents to a .267 batting average. Manning recorded a career-best performance on March 13 against Florida Tech, tossing a seven-inning shutout with nine strikeouts. He finished the season ranked among the top 10 in the SSC in both strikeouts (72) and ERA (3.50), and was named SSC Pitcher of the Week twice.

Zapata solidified his role as a key contributor on the mound, appearing in 16 games with 12 starts. The right-hander led the team with 95.1 innings pitched and ranked second with 69 strikeouts. He tossed his lone complete game of the season on May 1 against Florida Southern. During a four-start stretch, Zapata logged 18 innings, allowed just one earned run, and struck out 16 batters.

In his second season with the Sharks, Quevedo started 38 games and led the team with 32 walks. He also ranked second in RBIs (28) and stolen bases (6-for-7), and third in triples (2). Defensively, Quevedo recorded 90 assists, good for second on the team, and posted an impressive .987 fielding percentage. Quevedo earns the second all-defensive honors of his career.

The Sharks concluded their 2026 season earlier this month and will return to action in February 2027. For updates throughout the offseason, follow NSU Baseball on Instagram and X at @NSU_Baseball.
