Men's Golf Ends Run at NCAA National Championship

BOULDER CITY, Nev. – Nova Southeastern Men's Golf saw its historic season come to an end at the end of three rounds of stroke play at the 2026 NCAA Division II Men's Golf National Championship.

The Sharks (289/285/290, [E]) ended the first day of competition at Boulder Creek Golf Club just one over par ranking ninth of the 20 competing teams, just one slot out of the eight-team cut.

With difficult wind conditions dying down on day two, the Sharks took advantage with its best single day performance shooting three under par, but the conditions were more favorable all around as NSU slipped a spot, tied for tenth after two days.

Sitting just a stroke out of the cutline on day three, NSU battled but two double bogeys on hole 15 ended the Sharks' chances of catching up to the field, ending the day three over par and its time at the National Championship at par, overall.

Berea birdied twice on the final day to end his time in the Silver State at par.

  • Elias Mardeni (+2/73/73/72) birdied three times in each of the first two rounds of competition including three straight on holes 15 through 17 on the second day of competition. Mardeni finished the final day of stroke play with four birdies, ending the round at par.

  • Rodrigo Huerta (+3/69/72/78) started the tournament red hot with a first round three under par and carried that performance into round two with three birdies. In the final round, Huerta stumbled with five bogeys or worse cancelling out his three birdies.

  • Ivan Ponsdomenech (+5/76/70/75) started the tournament four over par after one round, but rebounded on day two with five birdies. Ponsdomenech finished his tournament three over par in round three ending in a tie for 71st individually.

  • Bruno Marques (+10/76/82/68) didn't have the best start of his season shooting over par in his first two rounds including seven bogeys and a triple bogey in round two. However, it was a return to form for the Sharks' All-South Region selection as he did not bogey in round three collecting four birdies to finish his final round four under par.
