ORLANDO, Fla. - The Sunshine State Conference announced its weekly award winners for the week of April 27-May 3, and one Shark was highlighted. Destiny Lewis was named Softball Player of the Week.
Lewis led the Sharks to a series sweep against Florida Southern, finishing with a .500 batting average, scoring three runs, and driving in three runs. In the series opener, she went 2-for-2 with a two-run home run, and then added a hit and a run in game two. She capped the series off by posting a triple and one run batted in. Lewis is currently tied for the most home runs in a single season for Nova Southeastern with 13.
